The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake Amiibo Are Up for Preorder

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake for Nintendo Switch 2 is coming in November, and when preorders went live, we saw tons of traffic a preorders go through. Suffice to say this is going to be a huge game. To go along with it, Nintendo is also releasing a pair of amiibo figures: Young Link and Young Zelda. Both cost $24.99 and have gone up for preorder at several retailers. However, they’re selling out fast, so don’t hesitate to lock in a preorder if you find one in stock. They don’t have specific release dates yet, but Nintendo says they’ll be out sometime in 2027.

Preorder the amiibo

Note: these amiibo are selling out quickly, so if you see one in stock and you want it, I’d grab it ASAP. I’ll keep updating this article as the amiibo go live at new retailers.

What the amiibo Do in the Game

Scanning these amiibo while playing the Ocarina of Time remake gets you an in-game mask “that evokes the graphical style of the original game.” Which is to say, the masks look angular and low-poly. But in a charming way.

As for the inspiration for these amiibo figures, Young Link and Young Zelda meet relatively early in the original N64 game. After leaving his forest home and crossing the vast expanse of Hyrule Field, young Link sneaks past some castle guards and finds himself in a courtyard. That’s where he meets young Zelda, whom he’s never met, but who has seen him in a prophecy.

More Zelda Preorders

In addition to the game and amiibo, Nintendo also put several Zelda 40th anniversary edition items up for preorder. These aren’t specifically related to the Ocarina remake, but they’re releasing on October 29, the week before the remake arrives.
