What Is Forza Horizon 6?

Forza Horizon 6 is the latest entry in Microsoft’s open-world racing series from Playground Games. It’s already available for Xbox Series X|S and PC, having released on May 18, 2026. It features over 550 real-life vehicles to collect and spec out. It takes place in Japan, where you can race in all sorts of biomes.

You can also build a Valley Estate to buy homes and display your collection of vehicles. You can play solo or co-op or competitively across a campaign filled with all sorts of race types. There are Time Attack Circuits and Drag Meets and stunts to pull off.

In this new era for Microsoft, not all of the company’s first-party games are coming to PS5. Gears of War: E-Day, for instance, is solidly an Xbox exclusive. But thankfully for PS5 owners, Forza Horizon 6 is still heading to Sony’s platform.

It’s one of the premier racing games of the generation, with critic Luke Reilly writing, “Technically, Forza Horizon 6 has not skipped a beat, and it runs like a titan. Aesthetically, it’s the best-looking and best-sounding game Playground has produced to date, set in the most wonderfully realised map it’s ever crafted – full of dense, authentic details and stunning driving roads. It’s rewarding to explore, the campaign is well-paced with a great payoff, and I simply cannot stop playing.”
